How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join a leading UK professional services firm as it expands its use of AI, automation and modern application technologies. You will build the DevOps foundations that move solutions from proof of concept into secure, reliable and supportable production services.

    Client Details

Our client is a large and well established professional services firm with multiple UK offices. Its specialist teams advise clients across a broad range of technical fields, combining deep sector expertise with an increasing investment in modern technology.

The organisation is expanding its use of AI, automation and cloud-based applications to improve internal operations and the services it provides to clients. This creates an excellent opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape how emerging technologies are deployed across a security-conscious professional environment.

    Description

This is a newly created position focused on the engineering, deployment and operationalisation of AI, automation and modern application solutions. Working primarily within the Microsoft technology stack, you will operate across Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure AI services and Microsoft Power Platform.

Rather than serving as a traditional Azure infrastructure position, the role will complement an established cloud engineering function. Your focus will be on DevOps, automated deployment, application integration and transitioning new solutions into dependable production services.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Developing and maintaining Azure DevOps processes, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, release management and environment management.
Creating Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment processes, primarily using Bicep and other Azure-focused technologies.
Supporting the development and deployment of solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI and wider Azure AI services.
Establishing appropriate development, test and production environments in partnership with application developers.
Integrating AI and automation solutions with existing applications and services through APIs, Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate.
Supporting the deployment of modern and containerised applications within Azure.
Applying effective identity, access control, secrets management and least-privilege security principles.
Moving AI and automation projects from proof of concept into production through repeatable deployment, monitoring, documentation and support processes.
Developing technical standards for Azure DevOps, AI platforms, automation and application deployment.
Evaluating emerging Microsoft AI, automation and DevOps capabilities.
Working with developers, infrastructure engineers, project teams, business stakeholders and external technology partners.
Producing clear technical and operational documentation covering configuration, deployment, maintenance and support.

    Profile

You will bring at least three years' experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a closely related technical role. You should have strong practical knowledge of DevOps principles, including source control, CI/CD, automated deployment and release management.

The successful candidate is likely to offer:

Practical experience with Azure DevOps or a comparable platform.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and deploying applications and services within Azure environments.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Bicep or similar Azure-focused tooling.
Exposure to AI platforms, LLMs or AI-enabled applications.
Experience with Azure AI Foundry or Azure OpenAI would be particularly advantageous.
An understanding of model deployment, lifecycle management and version control across multiple environments.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate, or comparable automation technologies.
Knowledge of APIs, application integration and development, test and production environments.
A sound understanding of cloud security, identity, access control, secrets management and least-privilege principles.
Experience supporting developers and moving applications or services into production.
Scripting or programming capability using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
Experience supporting systems throughout the development and production lifecycle.
Knowledge of containerised application deployment would be beneficial. You will be comfortable taking ownership of technical work while collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A practical approach to problem-solving, strong documentation habits and a genuine interest in emerging AI and automation technologies will be important.

Microsoft certifications such as AZ-400, AI-102 or AZ-204 would be welcomed but are not essential, with demonstrable real-world experience valued more highly. Previous experience within professional services or another regulated environment would also be advantageous.

    Job Offer

Competitive salary of up to £72000
    Permanent position based in Birmingham.
    Hybrid working.
26 days' annual leave plus statutory holidays.
    Contributory pension scheme.
    Life assurance.
Private medical insurance after 12 months.
Permanent health insurance after 12 months.
Reimbursement of relevant professional membership fees.
The opportunity to shape a newly created role and influence how AI and automation solutions are deployed across an established professional services organisation
