How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Finished your Civil Engineering degree and want to start yoiur journey into site engineering.

    We're looking for a Graduate Site Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering projects across the water, utilities and environmental infrastructure sectors.

    No previous Site Engineering experience is required. We're happy to consider a fresh graduate with the right attitude who wants to build a long-term career in civil engineering.

    What You'll Learn

    Working alongside experienced Engineers and Site Agents, you'll develop practical experience in:

    *

    Setting out using modern surveying equipment

    *

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    *

    Surveying and producing as-built information

    *

    QA, ITPs and engineering records

    *

    Supporting earthworks, drainage, pipelines and concrete works

    *

    Working with site teams to solve engineering problems

    *

    Planning and coordinating construction activities

    *

    Health, safety and environmental controls

    *

    Understanding how civil engineering projects are delivered from mobilisation through to handover

    What We're Looking For

    *

    Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

    *

    Genuine interest in site-based civil engineering

    *

    Willingness to learn and take responsibility

    *

    Comfortable working outdoors as part of a construction team

    *

    Good communication and problem-solving skills

    *

    Full UK driving licence advantageous
