How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Materials and Supply Chain Coordinator

    Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be partnering with an established and highly ambitious organisation in Newton Aycliffe on the appointment of a Materials and Supply Coordinator to join their Supply Chain team.

    This role is full time and permanent offering a salary of up to £32k depending on experience.

    Working hours are 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to working hours between an 8-9am start. Hybrid working is on offer of 2 days per week working from home if desirable.

    The Materials & Supply Coordinator will provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support across the supply chain. The role will maintain accurate order and project information, obtain supplier acknowledgements, expedite materials and services against required dates, and communicate progress, risks and actions. Working with Procurement, Projects, Production, Engineering, Quality and Logistics, the Materials & Supply Coordinator will keep activities aligned and escalate issues promptly. There will be occasional requirements for the role to support in commercial requirements, supplier selection and validation and logistics support.

    The Role:

    * Maintain accurate purchase order, supplier and project trackers, recording quantities, required and confirmed dates, status, risks and actions.

    * Obtain supplier order acknowledgements and confirm delivery commitments against project and production requirements.

    * Expedite materials and services through regular supplier follow-up, increasing frequency where dates are critical or at risk.

    * Identify delays, shortages or conflicting priorities early and escalate them clearly to the appropriate owner.

    * Coordinate actions and information between suppliers and Procurement, Projects, Production, Engineering, Quality and Logistics.

    * Confirm manufacturing progress, inspection readiness, non-conformance, rework and release status, maintaining action logs to closure.

    * Provide Logistics with accurate readiness dates, packing information and collection or delivery requirements.

    * Update ERP records, purchase order schedules and delivery dates promptly, processing authorised amendments with a clear audit trail.

    * Produce status updates, exception reports and KPI information highlighting overdue actions, delivery risk and performance concerns.

    * Support purchase order administration, quotation requests, supplier documentation, onboarding and master-data activity as directed.

    * Maintain effective supplier and stakeholder relationships through clear, professional and persistent communication.

    * Follow the company's purchasing, procurement, quality and document-control processes at all times.

    The Person/Requirements:

    * Experience in procurement, supply chain, order, production or project co-ordination, with responsibility for progressing actions and meeting deadlines

    * Experience of expediting suppliers or subcontractors and obtaining clear, reliable progress and delivery updates

    * Knowledge of purchase order lifecycles, ERP systems and controlled project or supplier documentation would be advantageous

    * Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, renewables, subsea or other project-led environment would be advantageous

    * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence maintaining structured trackers and reports

    * A relevant Procurement of Supply Chain qualification, or progress towards one would be desirable but not essential
