How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and ambitious Graduate Teaching Assistants to join a range of excellent secondary schools across North London. This is an ideal opportunity for graduates who are passionate about education and want to gain hands-on classroom experience before progressing into teacher training or other educational careers.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students and teachers across the school. You will work closely with pupils to help raise attainment, improve confidence, and create a positive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
    Providing 1:1 support for students who require additional academic or pastoral assistance.
    Building positive relationships with students and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
    Delivering small-group intervention sessions to improve student progress.
    Supporting pupils with SEN, behavioural, emotional, or academic needs.
    Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
    Contributing to extracurricular activities, including after-school clubs and enrichment programmes.
    Helping create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.What We're Looking For

    The successful candidate will:

    Hold a degree (any subject considered).
    Have a genuine interest in education and working with young people.
    Be considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, or a related field.
    Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Be proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
    Be committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential.

    Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
    Be willing to complete Prospero Teaching's registration and compliance process.
    Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
    Be able to provide professional references.
