How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Shift Rate: £23.78 per hour with 20% shift uplift
Hours: Rotating morning and afternoon shifts - 4 Day Work Week Mon-Thurs
    Job Type: Permanent
Haich Recruitment is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator on behalf of an established precision engineering business based in Manchester.
We are looking for a genuinely hands-on CNC machinist who can confidently program, set and operate CNC turning machinery rather than simply operate pre-set machines.
    The Role
    You will be responsible for:
    *
Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machinery
    *
    Working from engineering drawings
    *
    Setting jobs independently
    *
    Editing and proving out programs
    *
    Selecting tooling and making offsets/adjustments
    *
Producing precision components to demanding tolerances
    *
Carrying out dimensional and quality checks
    *
    Troubleshooting machining and production issues
    Machines / Controls
Experience with Mazak Quick Turn / QT series machinery, particularly the Quick Turn 250 (QT250), would be highly advantageous.
    Relevant experience may include:
    *
Mazak Quick Turn / QT series
    *
    Mazatrol controls
    *
    XYZ ProTURN / ProtoTRAK
    *
Similar CNC turning machinery where you have independently programmed, set and operated machines
Candidates with closely related Mazak turning experience are encouraged to apply even if they have not operated the exact QT250 model.
    About You
You should be an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator capable of taking responsibility for your own jobs.
You should be comfortable programming and setting machines, reading engineering drawings, proving out jobs and making the necessary tooling, program and offset adjustments.
Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, oil & gas or other high-precision engineering environments would be advantageous, not essential.
Due to the nature of the work and secure site, candidates must be able to satisfy the required security clearance requirements.
