How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Excellent Bonus of up to £7,000 per annum

    Early Finish Fridays at 2.30pm

    The Role

    A new opportunity for a production operative to join a long established and successful manufacturing organisation.

    Working as part of a team, you will be tasked with the manufacture, process, and filling of specialist coating products in accordance with approved formulations and specifications.

    Key Responsibilities will include

    • Accurately weigh and measure raw materials for batch production

    • Safely handle, store, and use hazardous materials in line with COSHH and company procedures

    • Operate production and filling equipment safely and efficiently

    • Monitor production processes and perform in-process quality checks

    • Pack finished goods in line with company and customer requirements

    • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with cleaning procedures

    • Support production schedules to meet delivery and efficiency targets

    • Ensure correct labelling, traceability, and documentation of all materials and finished goods

    • Communicate effectively with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to support operations

    Experience / skills required

    To be considered for the role you will bring experience working in a production or manufacturing environment (within chemicals, coatings, or similar industries) along with...

    • Ability to follow detailed formulations, work instructions, and SOPs accurately

    • Experience in weighing, measuring, and handling raw materials

    • Understanding of working with hazardous materials and associated safety controls (e.g. COSHH)

    • Ability to complete production and batch records clearly and accurately

    • Good attention to detail and ability to work to tight specifications

    • Basic numeracy and literacy skills

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

    • A forklift truck licence is desirable.

    The position will offer a competitive starting salary with annual review, a quarterly bonus, as well as a Christmas bonus, and holidays starting at 23 days plus bank holidays (increases with service), plus additional benefits, and continuous professional development.
