How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Sessions may take place in pupils' homes, schools or community settings, offering flexibility and the opportunity to create a learning environment that works for each individual.

    The role

As an SEN Tutor, you will:

Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition based on individual needs.

Support pupils with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and other learning difficulties.

Assess learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.

Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons.

Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each learner.

Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence and motivation.

Monitor and report on progress and outcomes.

Work collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals.

Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.

    What we're looking for

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEN.

Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, interventions or personalised support.

Strong subject knowledge relevant to the tutoring role.

A recognised teaching/tutoring qualification such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or relevant certification.

A good understanding of different SEN needs and effective teaching strategies.

Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.

A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.

    Specialist experience welcome

    We particularly welcome tutors with:

    Specialist SEN/SEND qualifications.

    Level 3, Level 4 or Level 5 education/SEN qualifications.

    Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualifications.

Experience supporting pupils with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism or SEMH.

Experience delivering intervention programmes or personalised learning plans.

    Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.

Experience working with pupils who are disengaged from mainstream education or accessing alternative provision.
