How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Installation Engineer – Electrical or Mechanical

    £40-45k OTE £50k + Overtime, Van, Bonus

    North West – 50% Travel across UK

    This company designs and delivers bespoke machinery, handling equipment and conveyor systems for manufacturing and industrial customers. With a strong focus on automation and systems integration, this is an opportunity to work on varied projects from workshop build through to installation and commissioning.

    Whether your background is electrical or mechanical, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, working on the build, installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist automated equipment.

    Installation Engineer – The Role:

    * Installation, assembly and commissioning of bespoke manufacturing machinery, conveyor systems and automated equipment

    * Mechanical build and/or electrical installation of specialist line control and handling equipment

    * Supporting workshop build and preparing equipment for installation

    * Installation, service, maintenance and repair of customer equipment

    * Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and automated systems

    * Supporting commissioning activities both in-house and at customer sites

    * Working alongside electrical, mechanical and controls engineers to deliver complete automated systems

    * Supporting software/program development where relevant to your discipline and experience

    * Carrying out service and maintenance work at customer plants

    * Providing timely and accurate technical support and resolving issues on-site

    * Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required standard

    You’ll need to be flexible and happy to travel around 50% of the time across the UK, with work split between the workshop and customer sites.
