How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

10 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a well-established engineering business in Bradford.

We are looking for an experienced CNC machinist who can hit the ground running, work independently and take ownership of jobs from programming and setting through to producing finished components.

This role would particularly suit somebody with a strong work ethic who is confident working stand-alone and can set a positive example to less experienced members of the machining team.

    The Role

    Your responsibilities will include:

Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
    Working independently from engineering drawings.
Setting tooling and making necessary adjustments.
Producing components accurately to specification and required tolerances.
Carrying out dimensional and quality checks.
    Identifying and resolving machining issues.
Taking ownership of jobs from initial set-up through to completion.
Working efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
Supporting and setting a positive example to developing members of the CNC team.
Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

    Machinery & Controls

The site operates XYZ Proturn lathes with ProtoTRAK programming controls, including:

    3 x XYZ Proturn 410 Series.
1 x XYZ RLX 555 Touchscreen.Previous XYZ Proturn / ProtoTRAK experience would be highly advantageous, particularly as the business is looking for somebody capable of becoming productive quickly.

However, we would also be interested in speaking with experienced CNC Turners who have strong programming, setting and operating experience on other controls and have the machining knowledge and capability to adapt.

Most of the existing CNC team can both mill and turn, so experience across both would be advantageous. However, the business is equally happy to consider a dedicated CNC Turner where their turning competence and capability are strong.

    What We’re Looking For

    Strong CNC turning experience.
Confident programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Experience working from engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of tooling and machining processes.
Strong understanding of tolerances and component inspection.
XYZ Proturn / ProtoTRAK experience highly advantageous.
Milling experience advantageous but not essential.
Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Capable of taking responsibility for your own workload.
Someone who can set a positive example to younger/developing members of the team.

    What’s on Offer

£18.00–£20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
    Permanent position.
    Monday to Friday day shifts.
    7:30am starts.
    2:30pm finish every Friday.
    No regular weekend working.
    Established engineering environment.
Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of machining work.
Long-term opportunity within an experienced CNC team.

    Apply Today

If you’re an experienced CNC Turner, CNC Programmer, CNC Setter Operator or CNC Machinist who is confident programming, setting and operating independently, we’d be keen to hear from you.

Previous ProtoTRAK experience would be particularly relevant, although experienced CNC Turners from other control systems are also encouraged to apply.
