How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ALN Teacher – Flintshire

    Location: Flintshire

    Contract type: Full-time / Long-term / Supply

    Start date: ASAP

    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

    Salary: £172.98 – £180 per day

Essential: QTS, EWC registration, Enhanced DBS, experience with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma-informed teaching.

    About the Role

Do you have the passion, patience, and personality to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people with Additional Learning Needs?

Elementa Support Services is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced ALN Teacher to work within a supportive educational setting in Flintshire.

We believe that behind every behaviour is a story, and behind every successful learner is an educator who took the time to understand it.

We're searching for a teacher who shares this philosophy – someone with a strong understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) who can confidently apply trauma-informed teaching strategies to help learners feel safe, supported, and ready to achieve.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your experience, creativity, and compassion to make a genuine impact on young people's educational journeys.

    Key Responsibilities

As an ALN Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of ALN learners.

Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment using trauma-informed approaches.

Recognise the impact of ACEs on pupil behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Support learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), helping them develop confidence and resilience.

Implement effective, relationship-based behaviour management strategies.

Develop personalised learning opportunities that encourage progress and independence.

Work closely with teaching assistants, ALNCOs, and other professionals to provide consistent support.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, recognising achievements both academically and personally.

Promote positive relationships and ensure learners feel safe, respected, and included.

    What We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Have proven experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Have practical experience delivering education through a trauma-informed approach.

Be confident supporting pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.

Possess excellent communication, classroom management, and relationship-building skills.

Be adaptable, patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education.

Ideally have experience in specialist ALN schools, PRUs, or alternative provision settings.

Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one.

Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to complete registration.

    Why Join Elementa?

At Elementa Support Services, we understand that working in ALN education requires a unique combination of skill, compassion, and dedication – and we value every bit of it!

    Here's what you can expect:

Competitive pay of £172.98 – £180 per day.

    Full-time teaching opportunities.

Access to welcoming, supportive educational environments.

Dedicated guidance from an experienced education recruitment team.

Opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

    Ready for Your Next Challenge?

Every learner has potential. Sometimes, they just need the right person to help them unlock it.

If you're a passionate ALN Teacher who understands the importance of trauma-informed education and building positive relationships, we'd love to welcome you to Elementa!
