How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    TradewindEducation is currently seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspirational Teacher of Geography to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield, with an ASAP start.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Geography teacher to join a supportive school environment and make a positive impact on students' academic progress, confidence, and love of learning.

    The Role

    As a Teacher of Geography, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the secondary age range. You will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of geographical concepts, current global issues, and the world around them.

    You will work closely with colleagues within the Geography department and wider school to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, and student achievement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Geography lessons in line with the school's curriculum.
    Teach Geography across the relevant secondary age range and ability levels.
    Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners.
    Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback.
    Maintain high expectations of student achievement, behaviour, and participation.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
    Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage students.
    Support students in developing their geographical knowledge, skills, and understanding.
    Prepare students effectively for examinations and assessments where required.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Geography department and across the school.
    Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
    Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
    Follow the school's safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and professional policies.
    Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and carers.

    Job Requirements

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    A degree or relevant qualification in Geography or a related subject.
    Experience teaching Geography within a secondary school setting.
    Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography.
    The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
    Excellent classroom management skills.
    High expectations of students' behaviour and academic achievement.
    The ability to differentiate teaching to support students of varying abilities.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
    The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    A professional, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography are also encouraged to apply.
