We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school on a full-time, long-term basis. The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
* Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and learning needs.
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
* Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
* Implementing EHCP targets and individual support strategies.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
* Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
* Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant.
* Have experience supporting children with additional needs.
* Be patient, caring and supportive.
* Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be confident working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups.
* Be adaptable and able to use their own initiative.
* Have a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

* Previous SEND experience preferred.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Two professional references.
