How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commercial Assurance Manager (Property Services)

    Full-time – 35 hours per week

    South East London - Hybrid

Hexagon is an innovative and responsive housing association working in partnership with a range of local authorities to meet housing needs across Southeast London. With a turnover of £40m, 120 staff and over 4,000 homes, Hexagon is continually improving the quality and range of our affordable homes and services.

As an organisation we are concerned with people, their homes, and communities. We make good quality, affordable housing, and services available to people in the local areas we serve, and work to extend opportunities and improve the neighbourhoods they live in.

We are seeking a commercially strong, detail focused Commercial Assurance Manager to lead robust cost control over Hexagon’s repairs, maintenance, compliance, planned investment, building safety and specialist property contracts. You will also provide independent commercial assurance across Property Services contracts and support continuous improvement through audit, data analysis and performance challenge.

This new role sits at the heart of Property Services providing robust commercial oversight of contracts, supplier performance, expenditure, variations, recharges and cost recovery opportunities. You will use data, financial analysis, and contract management expertise to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve commercial performance.

This is a hands-on commercial assurance role for someone who can interrogate contractor submissions line by line, compare charges against orders, schedule of rates, specifications, job history and previous payments, and challenge poor practice.

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    *

    Significant commercial/QS/Contract Management experience

    *

Relevant professional or degree level qualification or significant relevant work experience

    *

Proven ability to interrogate invoices and identify overpayments

    *

    Experience challenging contractor costs

    *

Understanding of social housing cost drivers

    *

    Excel and data analysis skills

    *

    Social Housing or contractor experience

    *

Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates, NEC, JCT or Term Maintenance Contracts.

    *

Experience recovering contractor recharges, latent defect claims, warranty claims, or insurance recoveries.

    *

Excellent professional and customer focused communication skills

    *

A commitment to providing a high standard of customer service with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

    *

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

This role presents a brilliant opportunity to further your career with a dynamic Great Place to Work accredited company with IIP Gold that is committed to employee engagement, values its staff and provides a work environment that is built on flexibility, empowerment, and a commitment to support you to be the best that you possibly can. If you want to work with a fantastic team and feel proud of the contribution that you make each day, then we very much want to hear from you.

We will offer you training and supervision to support your continued professional development, and an excellent package including private medical insurance, pension scheme with 3 x salary life assurance, flexible hybrid working (minimum expectation is 2 days per week office based), and 26 days annual leave rising one day per year to 31 days.

To apply please visit our website for an application form and job pack.

Closing Date: Sunday 25th October 2026

Interviews will be held in person on Wednesday 4th November 2026

We are committed to building a diverse workforce and making Hexagon an inclusive place to work where everyone can be themselves and feel valued for their contribution
