THE ROLE
As an Experienced Panel Beater / Painter, you will be responsible for repairing accident-damaged vehicle panels and carrying out preparation and painting work to a consistently high standard. You'll use your multi-skilled abilities to support the wider bodyshop team, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely and in line with manufacturer repair methods and professional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Carry out panel repairs, replacement and alignment on accident-damaged vehicles
·Complete preparation work, including sanding, filling, masking and priming
·Carry out paint spraying, colour matching, blending and refinishing where required
·Complete polishing and finishing work to achieve a high-quality result
·Assess damage and identify the appropriate repair methods and techniques
·Work closely with MET Technicians, other bodyshop colleagues and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient workflow
·Inspect completed repairs and rectify imperfections where necessary
·Follow manufacturer repair methods, bodyshop quality standards and Health & Safety procedures
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced, multi-skilled and quality-focused technician who can confidently undertake both panel repair and painting duties, taking pride in producing excellent results.
·Proven experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician, Painter or Paint Sprayer within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
·Practical experience across panel repair and automotive painting
·Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, panel repair and replacement techniques
·Experience with preparation, paint application, colour matching and blending
·Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
·Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and agreed production times
·Flexible approach with the ability to support different stages of the repair process
·Strong team player with a professional, reliable and positive attitude
·IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous but not essential
·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
