How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

As a Civil Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of a range of exciting infrastructure and development projects, working collaboratively with colleagues and other project stakeholders to develop innovative, sustainable and practical engineering solutions.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of civil engineering disciplines, contribute to projects from design through to delivery, and play an active role in promoting environmentally responsible engineering practices.

Apply sustainable and circular design principles to help minimise environmental impact.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, calculations and technical documentation.

Help ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and project specifications.

Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews and the continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Consider the wider environmental, social and ethical implications of engineering decisions.

    About You

We are keen to hear from Civil Design Engineers who are enthusiastic about delivering high-quality engineering solutions and are motivated by the opportunity to work for a consultancy with a strong sustainability ethos.

    You will ideally have:

Experience in civil engineering design within a consultancy or similar engineering environment.

Exposure to highways, drainage, SuDS and/or S278 design.

An understanding of relevant design standards, technical requirements and engineering best practice.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

A proactive approach to learning, professional development and continuous improvement.

A genuine interest in sustainability, circular design and environmentally responsible engineering.

Candidates looking to develop their technical expertise and progress their careers within a supportive, forward-thinking consultancy are encouraged to apply.

    Why Join This Consultancy
