What You'll Be Doing
As a Highways Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the technical delivery, setting out, surveying and supervision of earthworks operations across highways projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Carrying out site setting out, surveying and engineering activities for highways earthworks schemes.
·Using Leica survey equipment and associated software to collect, process and analyse survey data.
·Utilising N4ce software for terrain modelling, earthworks calculations and volumetric assessments.
·Preparing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
·Monitoring earthworks operations to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality requirements and health and safety standards.
·Undertaking cut-and-fill calculations, material quantity assessments and earthworks volume measurements.
·Working closely with site managers, contractors, designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
·Identifying and resolving technical issues encountered during earthworks operations.
·Supporting junior engineers and providing technical guidance where required.
·Maintaining accurate site records, survey information and quality assurance documentation.
·Assisting with construction planning, progress monitoring and the identification of potential project risks.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this Highways Site Engineer opportunity, you will ideally have:
·A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience working on highways or similar civil engineering projects.
·Proven experience using Leica surveying equipment and associated software, such as Leica Infinity or Leica Geo Office.
·Strong knowledge of earthworks operations, setting out, surveying and construction methodologies.
·A sound understanding of highways engineering standards, including DMRB.
·Experience working on live construction sites and monitoring earthworks activities.
·The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
·Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
·Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors and stakeholders.
·A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
·A full UK driving licence.
Salary and Benefits
