How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Hales Group Recruitment are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse and Goods In Operative to join our clients team. This is a hands-on role involving receiving deliveries, moving stock, and helping to keep the warehouse organised and running efficiently.
     
    Previous warehouse would be beneficial and we are keen to hear from candidates who are willing to learn, work safely, and develop new skills. Forklift training can be provided for the right person.  
    Salary - Dependent upon experience 
     
    Hours - 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch break - Total hours 37.50 per week. 
       Key Responsibilities
    Receiving and booking in deliveries.
    Checking stock against delivery notes and purchase orders.
    Loading, unloading and moving materials safely around the warehouse.
    Storing stock in the correct locations and maintaining accurate records.
    Assisting with stock checks and inventory control.
    Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised.
    Using warehouse systems to update stock information.
    Carrying out basic quality and quantity checks on incoming goods.
    Working closely with colleagues to ensure materials are available when needed.
    Following all health and safety procedures at all times. What We're Looking For

    Previous warehouse, stores or goods-in experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
    Confidence working in a hands-on environment and around large materials and structural steel.
    A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
    An interest in operating forklifts and material handling equipment. Full Counterbalance Forklift training will be provided for the right candidate.
    Good attention to detail and accuracy.
    Basic IT skills and confidence updating stock records.
    Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team. Company Benefits:

    Salary negotiable and dependent on experience, qualifications and attitude.
    Company Group Personal Pension Scheme: with the employee contributing 4% of earnings and the Company contributing 4% of earnings. Company contributions increase to 6% after 5 years' service and 7% after 10 years' service.
    Life Assurance is provided at 3 times basic salary.
    On site parking is provided.
