How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity where you can develop your skills, gain specialist training and progress towards a permanent position?

    We are seeking a committed and reliable Teaching Assistant with previous SEND experience to join a welcoming school in Royston, Hertfordshire.

    This full-time, temporary-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and keen to develop a rewarding career in special education.

    Full-time availability is essential. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm. You must also have your own transport or reliable commuting arrangements, as the school is most accessible by car.

    The Role
    You will support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them participate in learning, develop independence and build positive relationships.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Providing tailored support to meet individual pupil needs.
    Encouraging engagement, communication and confidence.
    Supporting classroom activities and learning objectives.
    Helping pupils develop social and independent living skills where appropriate.
    Working collaboratively with teaching staff.
    Maintaining a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

    What You Will Need:
    Essential previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
    GCSEs, including good literacy and numeracy skills.
    Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    The ability to adapt to different pupil needs.
    A reliable and professional approach to work.
    Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
    Own transport or reliable daily commuting arrangements.
