How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Electrician

    Cramlington | £39,000 to £42,000 Basic Salary + Overtime + Standby Allowance
A Maintenance Electrician is required for a large pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Cramlington, carrying out electrical maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site's building services and equipment.
The role offers a Monday to Friday days-based working pattern, a basic salary of £39,000 to £42,000, overtime opportunities, a standby allowance, private healthcare and life insurance.
This would suit an electrician with commercial or industrial maintenance experience who wants a stable, site-based role in a technically demanding environment.

    The Role

Working as part of an on-site engineering team, you'll help maintain the electrical systems, plant and equipment needed to keep a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility operating safely and efficiently.
You'll carry out scheduled maintenance, respond to faults and breakdowns, complete minor electrical works and ensure maintenance activities are recorded accurately. You'll also work alongside other engineers and technicians to support the wider maintenance operation.
Although the position is based at one main site, you may occasionally be required to support other locations within the site cluster.

    Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment.

Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose faults and complete repairs.

Undertake electrical maintenance and minor installation works to the required standard.

Support colleagues with planned maintenance activities, repairs and wider engineering tasks.

Identify faults and maintenance issues, prioritising work according to operational requirements.

Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant compliance documentation accurately.

Update the CAFM system with job progress, completed works and outstanding tasks.

Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in a safe, serviceable condition.

Follow site-specific health and safety procedures and company maintenance standards.

Work with client representatives and other contractors to maintain service quality and minimise disruption.

Provide support at other sites within the cluster when required.

    What You'll Need

To be considered for this Maintenance Electrician position, you'll need:

A City & Guilds Part 1 and Part 2 qualification in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent Level 2 or Level 3 electrical qualification.

17th or 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.

Previous experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a commercial or industrial environment.

Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs.

    Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

The ability to complete maintenance paperwork and use computerised maintenance systems.

A professional approach to health and safety, site procedures and working with customers.
Experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial or other technically demanding environments would be beneficial.

    What's On Offer

    £39,000 to £42,000 basic salary

    Overtime opportunities to increase earnings

    Additional standby allowance

    Monday to Friday, days-based working

    Private healthcare

    Life insurance

    Training and development opportunities

Potential for career progression within the wider engineering and facilities management operation
