How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supply Teachers – Holmes Chapel

    Holmes Chapel & Surrounding Areas

    £140–£180 per day (DOE)
    Paid weekly via PAYE – No umbrella companies

    Full-time, part-time and flexible working opportunities available

    Astro Education is looking for qualified and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to work in secondary schools in Holmes Chapel and the surrounding areas.

    We're keen to hear from experienced teachers and ECTs who are looking for flexible work, regular supply or longer-term teaching opportunities. We aim to match teachers with schools and assignments that suit their experience, preferences and availability.

    You'll deliver lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, helping pupils stay engaged in their learning and providing continuity when their regular teacher is unavailable.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver planned lessons across a range of subjects and key stages

    * Maintain a calm, positive and inclusive classroom

    * Manage behaviour and encourage pupil engagement

    * Adapt to the needs of different classes and learners

    * Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

    * Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour

    Requirements

    * QTS, QTLS or equivalent

    * Strong classroom management skills

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

    * Confidence adapting to different school environments

    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

    * Eligibility to work in the UK

    * Relevant references covering the last two years of employment

    * A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young people
