Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting the financial reporting and accounting activities of the syndicate, ensuring accurate and timely financial information while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting regulatory and Lloyd’s reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and support the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
* Assist with the preparation of syndicate financial statements and year-end accounts
* Support the quarterly and annual reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
* Perform detailed reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies
* Support the preparation of Lloyd’s and regulatory reporting requirements
* Assist with the production of financial analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
* Work closely with underwriting, actuarial and wider finance teams to ensure the accuracy of financial data
* Maintain robust financial controls and support process improvements across the finance function
Essential Requirements
* Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent relevant experience
* Previous syndicate accounting or financial reporting experience within the insurance sector
* Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end processes
* Experience preparing reconciliations, management accounts and financial reports
* Good knowledge of financial controls and reporting requirements
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
* Advanced Excel skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience within a Lloyd’s syndicate or London Market underwriting business
* Knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting requirements and syndicate financial statements
* Exposure to insurance accounting systems and financial reporting tools
* Understanding of insurance-specific accounting processes, including premium, claims and reinsurance accounting
* Experience supporting year-end audits and regulatory reporting
* Experience working within a fast-paced finance environment

The successful candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to quickly integrate into an established finance team. You will be comfortable working autonomously, managing multiple deadlines and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting throughout the 6-month contract
