Salary: £27,000 – £29,000 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Assembler to join a well-established engineering business in Hitchin. This is a hands-on role assembling mechanical components and equipment, with full in-house training and opportunities to develop specialist engineering skills.

Duties of a Mechanical Assembler:
Assemble mechanical components and equipment used within industrial water treatment systems.
Fit and connect pipes, pumps, valves, brackets, gauges and associated components.
Use hand tools and power tools to complete mechanical assembly and fitting work.
Position, align and secure components to ensure accurate assembly.
Follow engineering drawings, technical information and instructions where required.
Assist with the preparation and installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
Identify and resolve basic assembly issues, escalating more complex problems where necessary.
Work alongside the wider engineering team to meet quality and production requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
What we would like from you:
Previous experience in mechanical assembly, mechanical fitting, engineering, plumbing or a similar hands-on role.
Confident using hand tools and power tools.
A practical approach to building, fitting, connecting or assembling components.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
The ability to follow instructions and work safely within a workshop environment.
Experience reading engineering drawings would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided.
Experience with pipework, pumps, valves, machinery or mechanical systems would be advantageous.
Familiarity with ABS, PVC-U or other plastic pipework and fittings would be beneficial but is not essential.
Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial engineering or water treatment would be an advantage.
A willingness to learn, develop new skills and work as part of a team.
