We are currently seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wavertree, Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Providing individual and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
Supporting children to access the curriculum and engage in classroom activities.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement appropriate support strategies.
Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and wellbeing.
Adapting learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Monitoring pupil progress and communicating observations to the wider school team.
Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes and other school activities where required.The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or SEND setting.
Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
Is patient, empathetic, resilient and adaptable.
Can build positive, trusting relationships with children.
Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
Is confident supporting pupils with a range of learning, communication, sensory or emotional needs.
Can follow individual support plans and guidance from teaching staff.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous SEND experience would be advantageous, but candidates with the right attitude, transferable skills and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
