How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job title: KS1 Teacher – Lewisham

    Location: Lewisham, London

Salary: £41,729 - £64,684 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

    Start date: 9 November 2026

Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.

Hours: Term time; daily hours and assignment arrangements confirmed before placement.

Make room for the questions, stories and discoveries that help young children learn. Transparency Education is recruiting a KS1 Teacher for a primary school opportunity in Lewisham, supporting pupils as they grow into increasingly independent learners.

You will plan purposeful lessons that give children plenty of opportunities to talk, practise and apply new skills. The role will suit a teacher who can balance warm relationships with consistent routines and keep early reading at the heart of classroom life.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver well-paced teaching across Key Stage 1.

    • Build vocabulary through discussion, shared texts and clear modelling.

    • Teach phonics and early writing in line with the school’s approach.

    • Use observations and short checks to plan targeted next steps.

    • Coordinate classroom support and keep families informed about progress.

    Requirements

    • QTS and a good understanding of Year 1 and Year 2 learning.

    • Experience helping children develop early reading and number skills.

    • Inclusive planning and a positive, consistent approach to behaviour.

    • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one as part of the recruitment process.

    What the role offers

    • A role centred on children’s language, confidence and early achievement.

    • The opportunity to shape daily learning through stories, practical work and discussion.

    Why work via Transparency Education?

You will have a dedicated consultant for ongoing support and guidance, with access to CPD through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders.

Our refer-a-friend scheme pays £150 for each candidate you refer after they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days. We pay in line with applicable Agency Workers Regulations (AWR).

    Apply

Tell us what you enjoy about teaching KS1 and send your CV for this Lewisham role.

Email or call (phone number removed). Please include your availability for a 9 November 2026 start.

If you have not heard from us within two working days, your application has not progressed for this role. We may contact you about other suitable education opportunities.
