How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job title: SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD) – Specialist School – Croydon

    Location: Croydon, London

Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.

    Start date: 9 November 2026

Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.

Hours: Term time; daily hours and assignment arrangements confirmed before placement.

Learning can begin with shared attention, a familiar sound or the chance to choose what happens next. Transparency Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school role in Croydon, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

You will work alongside teaching staff to make activities accessible and help pupils participate as fully as possible. Care routines are an important part of this work, so we are looking for someone who combines practical reliability with sensitivity to each pupil’s comfort, dignity and preferences.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and support accessible activities based on individual learning goals.

    • Notice pupils’ responses and use communication approaches agreed by the team.

    • Provide personal care and assist with mobility or feeding only within agreed plans and training.

    • Help pupils move between activities safely and at an appropriate pace.

    • Share observations about learning, comfort and wellbeing with relevant staff.

    Requirements

    • Experience in SEND, disability support, health or social care.

    • Confidence supporting personal care with discretion and respect.

    • An observant approach and willingness to follow specialist guidance.

    • Experience with sensory learning or communication aids would be helpful.

    • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one as part of the recruitment process.

    What the role offers

    • A varied specialist support role combining education and everyday independence.

    • The opportunity to bring transferable care experience into a school setting.

    Why work via Transparency Education?

You will have a dedicated consultant for ongoing support and guidance, with access to CPD through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders.

Our refer-a-friend scheme pays £150 for each candidate you refer after they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days. We pay in line with applicable Agency Workers Regulations (AWR).
