Interaction Technical are working in partnership with a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet services provider to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join their expanding workshop team in Scunthorpe.

The Benefits

Realistic OTE of £55,000–£60,000+ per annum

The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet. Your duties will include:
Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and commercial vehicles
Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
Conducting vehicle inspections, defect reporting and preventative maintenance
Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, axles, suspension and braking systems
Carrying out testing and fault-finding to ensure vehicles meet DVSA and company compliance standards
Completing repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications
Attending vehicle breakdowns and providing roadside assistance as part of a rota
Carrying out mobile maintenance and repairs at customer sites when required
Accurately completing job cards, service sheets and other maintenance documentation
The Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need:
Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or PSV Technician — essential
Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent — essential
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across commercial vehicles
Experience carrying out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGV fleets
The ability to strip and rebuild major vehicle components
Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
A full UK driving licence — essential
An HGV licence — desirable but not essential
The ability to work independently and as part of a professional workshop team
A flexible, proactive approach to breakdowns, call-outs and mobile repair work
