How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Skilled Wireperson / Wiring Cabinet Builder

    Salary negotiable, Burgess Hill, Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 3:45pm, Friday 7:00am to 11:30am, Permanent, 28 days holiday plus paid Christmas shutdown, BUPA healthcare after probation

    The Role

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Wireperson / Wiring Cabinet Builder to join an established manufacturing business based in a central Burgess Hill location. Working as part of a production team, the Skilled Wireperson / Cabinet Builder will report to a Team Leader or Supervisor and play a key role in the assembly and wiring of electrical products to a high quality standard.

    Working from drawings, schedules and process instructions
    Building cable assemblies, looms and wiring panels
    Using hand tools and crimping equipment safely and accurately
    Identifying cable and wire types and selecting appropriate components
    Working with both single-core and multi-core cable assemblies
    Ensuring products meet quality standards and specifications
    Completing production documentation accurately
    Following established manufacturing and assembly procedures
    Supporting colleagues across different assembly tasks when required
    Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

    Requirements

    The successful Skilled Wireperson / Wiring Cabinet Builder will have previous experience within manufacturing, electrical assembly, panel wiring, loom building, cable assembly or a similar production environment. Experience reading engineering drawings and assembly instructions is highly desirable, as is the ability to use hand tools and crimping equipment confidently. Good communication skills, computer literacy, attention to detail and a strong work ethic are all highly desirable. Candidates should be able to work accurately, prioritise workloads and contribute positively within a team environment.

    This role could suit someone who has worked as an experienced Wireperson, Electrical Assembler or Panel Wirer.
