How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About you

If you are an experienced Site Manager with a background in industrial fit out and refurbishment, this could be a really good opportunity if you enjoy taking ownership of your own projects.

You will be joining an established construction business delivering industrial unit refurbishments and fit out projects across the UK, with values ranging from £100,000 to around £3 million.

Ideally, you will already have experience working on industrial units, warehouses or similar industrial schemes. If your background is more broadly within commercial fit out and refurbishment, that could still work, providing you understand this type of construction and are confident managing your own sites.

You will be managing projects lasting anywhere from five weeks to five months, so there is a good variety of work rather than spending years on the same site.

The role is based from Warrington, although you will need to be comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away when required.

The salary is circa £50,000 per annum, plus a company van.

    Your experience

You will need at least three years of experience working as a Site Manager within construction, ideally delivering industrial fit out and refurbishment projects.

Experience working on industrial units, warehouses, industrial estates or similar buildings would be particularly relevant.

A joinery background would be beneficial, although this is not essential. What matters most is that you understand refurbishment work and can confidently manage a project from start to finish.

You will need to be comfortable managing subcontractors, coordinating trades, working to construction programmes and making sure projects are delivered safely and to the required standard.

You should be confident reading drawings and specifications, understanding project programmes and dealing with the day to day issues that come with running a busy construction site.

You will also need to be organised when it comes to site paperwork, daily diaries, progress reports and recording variations.

You must hold a valid CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work and a full UK driving licence.

You should also be comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will take responsibility for the day to day management of industrial unit fit out and refurbishment projects across the UK.

Projects will typically range from £100,000 to £3 million, with programmes lasting between five weeks and five months.

You will be managing everything happening on site, from coordinating subcontractors and suppliers through to making sure the work is progressing in line with the programme.

You will work closely with Project Managers and clients, keeping everyone informed of progress and dealing with any issues that could affect delivery.

Health and safety will be a big part of your role, making sure everyone on site is working safely and that the relevant procedures and regulations are being followed.

You will also be responsible for maintaining quality standards, checking completed work and making sure the finished project meets the client's expectations.

There will be an element of commercial awareness required too. You will need to monitor labour and material usage, identify variations and help make sure projects are being delivered efficiently.

You will maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports and any changes to the original scope of work.

This is a Site Manager position where you will have responsibility for your own projects and be trusted to get on with running them properly.

    About the business

You will be joining an established construction business delivering industrial fit out and refurbishment projects across the UK.

The work is predominantly focused on industrial units and warehouses, with projects varying in size and duration.

The business is looking for someone who understands the challenges of refurbishing industrial buildings, can manage subcontractors effectively and knows how to deliver projects safely, on programme and to a good standard.

They would ideally like someone who has already worked on industrial schemes, although they are open to considering experienced Site Managers from other fit out and refurbishment backgrounds.

You will need to be happy travelling nationwide and staying away when projects require it, with accommodation and travel expenses covered.

The salary is circa £50,000 per annum, plus a company van and fuel card.
