How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager (Aftermarket Sales) – Overview

    We are currently working with one of the longest trading combustion manufacturers in the world who are looking for a Business Development Manager to cover the North & Scotland. The company have been operating in the UK for over 60 years and are the UK arm of a global burner and combustion manufacturer.

    This role is focused on developing existing accounts as opposed to new business. The company have over 300+ accounts in the North and Scotland across Food & Beverage accounts, Energy From Waste, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and other sites. This role will be growing the companies aftermarket business, focused on upgrades and modernisation, service and maintenance contracts and spares, parts and consumables. You’ll play a key role in developing long-term client relationships, improving asset performance for customers, and positioning the business as a trusted lifecycle partner for combustion equipment and plant.

    A typical week might involve:

    * Visiting manufacturing facilities, energy centres and industrial sites across the North and Scotland.

    * Meeting plant managers, maintenance managers and engineering teams.

    * Identifying opportunities to upgrade existing boilers, burners and combustion controls.

    * Negotiating maintenance agreements and service contract renewals.

    * Working with technical engineers to prepare proposals and quotations.

    * Developing new accounts while maximising revenue from existing customers.

    * Managing the sales pipeline, forecasting and reporting to the Managing Director.

    One of the real attractions is the level of support you’ll receive. You'll have a dedicated sales booking team to assist with bookings and day to day coordination, a Technical Designer to support on upgrades and projects, the technical sales teams can produce all quotes for you. This allows you to focus on building customer relationships, identifying opportunities and generating revenue rather than getting bogged down in administration.

    The company are CRM based so ability to update and input CRM data is essential, along with strong technical knowledge across burner and combustion systems.

    Your target for Y1 will be £850,000. For the first 3 months, you will be given full and extensive training across their range of products, sales process and introduction to their existing accounts. Commission is completely uncapped!

    * Strong commercial acumen with a focus on recurring revenue

    * Ability to identify and develop lifecycle revenue opportunities

    * Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

    * Strong proposal development and negotiation capability

    Business Development Manager (Aftermarket Sales) – Salary & Remunereation

    * Basic Salary £65,000 - £70,000 (OTE £85-90K first year, but completely uncapped)

    * Commission Uncapped
