Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in our Head Office in Cork, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Digital Construction team as a BIM Technician, supporting the delivery of our projects which cover a wide variety of sectors.
Your day will include:
Producing and updating detailed 3D BIM models and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical building services.
Developing coordinated models and drawings in line with project specifications, design standards and construction requirements.
Collaborating with engineers, designers and site teams to ensure accurate and coordinated project information.
Identifying and resolving clashes between building services and other disciplines.
Preparing layouts, sections, schematics and installation drawings for construction.
Incorporating design changes and ensuring drawings and models are kept up to date throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting design reviews, coordination meetings and the resolution of technical queries.
Ensuring BIM models and documentation meet project quality standards and agreed deadlines.
About You
Relevant qualification in BIM, Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.
Experience in a BIM Technician or similar role within the construction or building services sector.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination tools is an advantage.
Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, technical drawings and construction documentation.
Knowledge of BIM standards, modelling practices and clash detection processes.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical information.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
