On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 months contract based in Bristol. Please note there might be some associated travel with this role.
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will:
Develop, optimise and continuously improve manufacturing processes, including polishing, manual dressing and externally supplied special processes, to improve quality, yield and Right First Time (RFT) performance.
Act as a key point of contact between Operations, Quality, Engineering and external suppliers, ensuring manufacturing and inspection standards are consistently achieved.
Analyse process, inspection and supplier performance data to identify root causes, reduce scrap and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the validation, verification and control of manufacturing processes, including dimensional inspection, visual inspection, chemical processing, X-ray and dye penetrant inspection activities.
Create, maintain and improve process documentation, inspection standards and method change control activities to ensure robust and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Conduct supplier reviews and technical discussions, driving process capability, quality improvements and compliance with manufacturing requirements.The skills you'll need as a Manufacturing Engineer:
Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer or Continuous Improvement Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing process improvement, quality control and inspection techniques, with a focus on yield, scrap reduction and Right First Time (RFT) performance.
Experience with visual and dimensional inspection methods, including the use of manual measurement equipment and CMMs.
Knowledge of special processes such as polishing, manual dressing, chemical processing, X-ray inspection or dye penetrant inspection would be highly advantageous.
Experience working with suppliers, driving quality improvements and managing process validation or change control activities.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC and continuous improvement methodologies, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Next steps
