The Role : As a Supply Sen Teacher you will be responsible for covering and delivering engaging lessons that support both academic development and wider life skills. Our SEN schools place a strong emphasis on creative and adaptable learning, giving pupils opportunities to develop their education in alternate ways, build confidence and independence.
You will work across a range of year groups, supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including:
Autism
Complex physical and medical needs
Communication and learning difficulties
Challenging behaviour
A range of additional and individual needsKey Responsibilities
Plan, cover and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
Adapt teaching and learning to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
Teach across a range of age groups, abilities and SEN profiles.
Encourage creativity, imagination and participation within lessons.
Implement appropriate behaviour management and support strategies.
Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.Requirements
QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Previous experience teaching within an SEN or specialist setting.
Strong knowledge and understanding of SEN education.
Experience supporting pupils with Autism, complex needs and/or challenging behaviour
