How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Supervisor – Site Services

    Thetford, Norfolk
Full time, Flexible shift pattern (double days or days only)

We’re working with an established manufacturer in Thetford, who are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead their Site Services team.
This is a great step for a maintenance team leader or senior engineer ready to take on supervisory responsibility, or an existing engineering supervisor looking for a role with real ownership of asset integrity.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll take charge of the infrastructure that keeps the site running safely, including tanks, vessels, pipework, valves, pumps, and transfer systems. You’ll lead a team of multiskilled engineers, make sure inspections and planned maintenance happen on time, and keep a clear, accurate record of every asset’s condition and history.

    What the job involves

Leading and supporting the Site Services team, planning and allocating daily maintenance and inspection work
Taking ownership of the condition and reliability of tanks, vessels, pipework, valves, pumps, bunds and wider site infrastructure
Making sure planned inspections and preventative maintenance tasks are completed on schedule, and that defects are picked up and put right
Providing hands-on technical support during breakdowns, leaks and other site issues
Arranging and overseeing specialist contractors for inspections, testing and repairs
Managing asset records, inspection schedules and PPMs on the site’s CMMS, keeping reports and certificates up to date to provide a complete asset history
Keeping on top of overdue inspections and outstanding actions, and using maintenance data to spot recurring problems and drive improvements
Ensuring all work is carried out safely, with permits, isolations, risk assessments and safe systems of work properly followed
Supporting COMAH, process safety and environmental compliance, including internal, external and regulatory audits and inspections
Escalating any significant defects or conditions that could affect safety, the environment or continued safe operation
    What you’ll bring

Experience in site services, utilities, mechanical maintenance or engineering supervision, ideally with responsibility for leading a team
Strong practical knowledge of tanks, pipework, valves, pumps and associated systems
A solid background in planned maintenance, inspections and asset integrity
    Experience using a CMMS
A thorough understanding of permit-to-work, isolations and safe systems of work
Awareness of COMAH and process safety within a chemical or process manufacturing environment
Confident leadership, good organisation and the ability to communicate clearly with your team, contractors and senior colleagues
