Commercial Property Paralegal

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join a busy and growing Commercial Property Department.

Working closely with the Head of Commercial Property, you will handle a varied caseload involving landlords, tenants, property investors, businesses, companies and private clients. The work will cover commercial property sales and purchases, landlord and tenant matters, commercial leases, property finance, development and property management across office, industrial, retail and agricultural sectors.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and progress a varied caseload of commercial property matters from initial instruction through to completion.
* Assist with commercial property sales and purchases, including reviewing title documents, raising and responding to enquiries, and coordinating transactions.
* Handle landlord and tenant matters, including preparing, reviewing and completing leases, licences, assignments, renewals and associated documentation.
* Support property finance transactions, acting for borrowers and lenders where appropriate.
* Undertake and review property searches, title documents, leases, CPSE enquiries and other due diligence.
* Draft, review and amend commercial property documentation under appropriate supervision.
* Prepare reports, completion statements and other transaction-related documents.
* Liaise with clients, solicitors, estate agents, lenders, surveyors, accountants, developers and other professional advisers.
* Monitor transaction timetables, key dates and deadlines to ensure matters progress efficiently.
* Deal with Land Registry applications, registrations and post-completion requirements.
* Prepare and submit Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and arrange payments to HMRC.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic files and case management records.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including SRA rules and anti-money laundering obligations.
* Provide excellent client service, keeping clients informed throughout their transactions.
* Work closely with the Head of Commercial Property to ensure the efficient delivery of matters.
* Contribute to networking and business development activities, helping to strengthen client relationships and support the growth of the department.

Skills and Experience

* Previous experience working as a Commercial Property Paralegal or in a similar commercial property role.
* A sound understanding of commercial property transactions and associated legal processes.
* Strong legal research, drafting and document-review skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
