About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Site EHS Advisor to champion health, safety, and environmental (EHS) practises on-site. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to provide operational EHS support and ensure compliance with safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of zero harm and sustainable practises within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership: Provide visible and active EHS leadership, acting as a champion for health, safety, and environmental well-being.
Communication: Implement safety communications across all personnel, organise monthly Safety Representative forums, and roll out general safety campaigns.
EHS Management of Subcontractors: Monitor subcontractor work against accepted Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and report non-compliance.
Monitoring & Assessment: Conduct routine and non-routine checks and inspections, documenting findings and escalating unsafe acts or conditions to the site management team.
Incident Management: Review safety observations and manage incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
Emergency Response: Facilitate local emergency response drills and monitor emergency response equipment availability on-site.
Documentation & Reporting: Develop weekly EHS site reports and ensure all relevant documentation is compiled and archived.Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management and Environmental Management.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly in large construction projects.
Experience in implementing EHS arrangements for Principal Contractors on CDM projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
IT Literacy (MS Office) for effective documentation and reporting.Preferred Qualifications:
IOSH Chartered Member.
Lead Auditor OHSAS18001/ISO14001.
Experience in accident investigation and fire safety.
Familiarity with safety coaching and behavioural safety practises.Personal Attributes:
A proactive approach with the ability to drive initiatives and resolve issues effectively.
Strong leadership skills with the capability to empower and engage others.
