How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Engineer (Depot Based) - Andover, Hampshire - Circa £50,000

    * Pay: circa £50,000 per annum

    * Location: Andover, Hampshire (depot based)

    * Permanent

    * Benefits: company vehicle, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, free parking, pension (5% employee / 3% employer), corporate eyecare scheme, plus group life assurance (3x salary) and private medical insurance (opt-in) after successful probation

    Electrical Engineer Company Overview:

    Our client is a well-established national equipment hire business with a strong reputation for quality and service. From its Hampshire depot, its service and refurbishment team keeps a large fleet of specialist hire equipment safe, compliant and ready to go out. They are now looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team and take ownership of electrical compliance across key equipment fleets.

    Electrical Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

    * Assist engineers with the refurbishment of equipment across the hire portfolio

    * Manage the pump and heat exchanger fleet for electrical compliance and testing, before and after hire

    * Manage the telemetry fleet, keeping units ready for hire, training lead engineers in the field, working with the supplier and leading on new product development

    * Manage the cable fleet, ensuring safety compliance and asset tracking of all equipment

    * Manage and assist in the development of flue dilution units

    * Assist with large on-site installations and de-installations where electrical works are required

    * Be a key driver of on-site and off-site safety, ensuring compliance with all systems, procedures and processes

    * Supervise and support an electrician on electrical works at the depot and across the wider network

    Electrical Engineer Skills and Experience:

    * 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification

    * AM2 qualification

    * Able to work safely, with a tidy, well-organised work ethic

    * A "get it done right first time" attitude

    * Good communication skills

    * Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a large team

    * Previous experience of HVAC equipment service, repair and installation is advantageous

    * Experience of working in a fast-paced hire industry is advantageous
