How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Manager - Commercial Flooring

    Role: Site Manager
    Location: Leicestershire
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
    Additional: Van and fuel card
    Job Type: Permanent, full-time

    About the Opportunity

Linsco are delighted to be supporting our client, an established specialist commercial flooring contractor, in their search for an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of projects across a varied portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Site Manager with experience in commercial flooring, fit-out or a related construction environment to take ownership of projects from pre-start through to completion and handover.

Working closely with the contracts team, main contractors, site operatives and other trades, you will play a key role in ensuring flooring installations are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in line with agreed programmes.

Projects span a variety of sectors, potentially including commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and logistics environments.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day delivery of commercial flooring installations, from site preparation through to final handover.
Coordinate flooring fitters, subcontractors, labour, materials and equipment to ensure works are completed efficiently.
Carry out pre-start site inspections, checking access, working conditions, logistics and readiness for installation.
Inspect subfloors and oversee preparation works, ensuring surfaces are suitable for the specified flooring system before installation begins.
Supervise flooring installations, ensuring work complies with drawings, specifications, manufacturer recommendations and quality requirements.
Coordinate activities with main contractors, clients and other trades to avoid clashes, delays and disruption to the wider construction programme.
Monitor progress against project programmes, identify potential issues and implement practical solutions to keep works on track.
Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring site documentation, risk assessments, method statements and relevant procedures are followed.
Carry out regular quality inspections, identify defects, manage snagging and ensure outstanding works are completed before handover.
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, photographs and relevant project documentation.
Identify changes to the agreed scope of works, variations and potential additional costs, reporting these promptly to the contracts or commercial team.
Monitor labour productivity, material usage and site resources, helping to protect project costs and commercial performance.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, main contractors, site teams, suppliers and internal colleagues.
Support the contracts team with practical site knowledge, technical queries and the resolution of installation issues.

    What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar site-based management role.
Experience within commercial flooring is highly desirable, particularly overseeing installation teams and specialist subcontractors.
Candidates from commercial fit-out, interior finishes or related construction environments may also be considered where they can demonstrate relevant transferable experience.
Good technical understanding of flooring installations, subfloor preparation and the importance of achieving the correct finish.
Experience coordinating site operatives, labour, materials and competing activities within live construction environments.
A sound understanding of construction health and safety requirements and site compliance.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage programmes, prioritise workloads and resolve issues effectively.
Commercial awareness, including the ability to recognise variations, avoid unnecessary costs and protect project margins.
Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, main contractors and internal teams.
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required
SMSTS or SSSTS, and a suitable CSCS card would be advantageous, depending on project requirements.

    The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established specialist contractor delivering commercial flooring projects across a varied portfolio.

You will have the chance to take ownership of site delivery, work alongside an experienced contracts and commercial team, and contribute directly to the successful completion of projects.

For an experienced flooring professional looking to take the next step in their career, or a capable Site Supervisor ready for greater responsibility, this role offers the opportunity to develop within an established business.
