Recently graduated in Psychology, Counselling, Education, Criminology or a related subject? A supportive primary school in Newbury is looking for a compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join its specialist Resource Base.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs and develop valuable skills for a future career in psychology, therapy or education.
What will the role involve?
As a Mental Health Assistant, you'll support pupils from Reception to Year 6 who may experience:
Autism and ADHD.
Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties.
Trauma-related behaviours.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Barriers to learning and social development.You'll help pupils manage emotions, build confidence, develop resilience and form positive relationships in a safe, nurturing environment.
