Are you a graduate in Psychology, Counselling, Education, Criminology or a related subject? A supportive primary school in Reading is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join its specialist Resource Base.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience supporting children with additional needs while developing skills that could shape your future career in psychology, therapy or education.
What will you be doing?
As a Mental Health Assistant, you'll support pupils from Reception to Year 6 who may experience:
Autism and ADHD.
Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties.
Trauma-related behaviours.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Barriers to learning and social development.You'll help children manage their emotions, build resilience, develop confidence and establish positive relationships in a safe, nurturing environment.
