Production Manager | Barnsley | £57,000 - £62,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Production Manager's Key Responsibilities:
Lead all site production activities, ensuring output, quality, safety, and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, identifying efficiencies, eliminating waste, and improving productivity across value streams.
Manage production resources effectively, including labour, materials, equipment, and plant layout, to maximise operational performance.
Develop and mentor Team Leaders and Supervisors, promoting a positive culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous development.
Monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, improve throughput, and support new product introductions, capacity planning, and operational growth initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required as a Production Manager:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Production Management position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement techniques, and production optimisation methodologies.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate multidisciplinary manufacturing teams.
Experience working with ERP systems and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Engineering qualification preferred, although substantial hands-on manufacturing leadership experience will be equally considered.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, quality systems, and operational best practices.
Data-driven and methodical approach with the confidence to challenge existing processes and implement positive change.
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
