How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Love the buzz of a busy sales floor? Thrive on targets, quick thinking and turning a cold call into a genuine opportunity? At Independent Utility Advice, you could be the voice that opens the door to our next business customer.

THE REWARDS — MORE THAN JUST A SALES JOB

    *

LIFE-CHANGING COMMISSION POTENTIAL — a high-reward commission structure designed to recognise outstanding performance, with the opportunity to achieve huge earnings through consistent results.

    *

Private healthcare and a paid day off on your birthday

    *

Cash handout incentives, team socials and performance rewards

    *

    Performance-based early Friday finishes

    *

50% discount on LNER train travel, plus hotel and restaurant discounts

    *

Cycle to Work Scheme and Tech Scheme

    *

Structured onboarding, ongoing training and the chance to build your sales career

Ambitious? Driven? Ready to push your earnings further? At IUA, every quality conversation is a chance to build your pipeline, hit your goals and unlock bigger rewards. Your effort, resilience and results can make a real difference to what you earn.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    *

Hit the phones: proactively contact UK businesses and spark conversations with owners, directors and decision-makers.

    *

Get curious: uncover energy needs, contract details and renewal opportunities through confident, purposeful questions.

    *

Create opportunities: qualify leads, arrange appointments and, where appropriate, secure energy bills and letters of authority (LOAs) with customer consent.

    *

Keep the momentum: build a strong pipeline, follow up quickly and hand over quality opportunities to our Energy Consultants.

    *

Own your numbers: work towards clear call activity, talk-time, lead and conversion targets, with accurate CRM records.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

    *

You enjoy outbound calling and have experience in telesales, lead generation, business development or a target-led sales environment.

    *

You can handle objections, bounce back from rejection and bring the same drive to your last call as your first.

    *

You are confident with decision-makers, quick to build rapport and comfortable asking for the next step.

    *

You are coachable, organised, competitive in a positive way and motivated by measurable results.

    *

Energy or utilities experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we’ll help you learn the market.

    READY TO MAKE YOUR MARK?

If you want a lively, performance-focused role where your conversations count, we want to hear from you. Apply with your CV and tell us what sales targets or results you are most proud of.
