How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate QA Engineer

    Location: London
    Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
    Sector: Insurance / Technology

    The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate QA Engineer to join an innovative technology-focused business operating within the insurance sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who enjoys problem-solving, technology and understanding how businesses operate, and is looking to build a career in Quality Assurance, Software Engineering or Product.

Working as part of a collaborative technology team, you will work closely with developers, data engineers, data scientists and operational colleagues to help ensure that software applications are reliable, effective and deliver an excellent user experience.

You don't need to be an experienced QA professional – this is a genuine graduate opportunity where you will receive support and develop your technical skills while gaining valuable exposure to both technology and the insurance industry.

    Key Responsibilities

Carry out manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications.
Identify, document and track software defects, including clear reproduction steps.
Assist with developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
Work with developers, data specialists and business teams to understand requirements and testing needs.
Participate in team meetings, code reviews and Agile sprint planning.
Develop your understanding of QA processes, testing methodologies and software development.
Contribute ideas and help identify opportunities to improve the quality and performance of applications.
Support wider business and technology projects as required.
    About You

We're looking for a graduate who is curious, analytical and enjoys solving problems. You may have studied a technology-related subject, or you may come from a business/operations background with a strong interest in technology.

    You should have:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Some foundational knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, Java or C#.
An understanding of basic software testing principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
A genuine interest in technology and how it can be used to improve business processes.
    Desirable Skills

The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:

Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
Exposure to testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress or PyTest.
Previous project work, university assignments or personal projects involving software development or testing.
    What's on Offer?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where you can develop your technical skills while gaining exposure to the rapidly evolving world of insurance technology.

You'll work alongside experienced technology and insurance professionals, with the opportunity to build a broad skill set and potentially develop your career into areas such as Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, Data, Product Management or Technology.

If you're a recent graduate with a curious mind, strong analytical skills and an interest in both business and technology, we'd love to hear from you
