How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teachers - Specialist Therapeutic School
    Location: Maidstone, Kent
    Age Range: Key Stage 1 - 3
    Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Start Date: November 2026 or January 2027

An opportunity to help shape a brand-new therapeutic school from the very beginning.

LTE Search is supporting an established specialist education group with the opening of a brand-new therapeutic school in Maidstone, opening in January 2027.

This is an opportunity to join the school at the start of its journey and help shape a completely new provision, with teachers joining from November or January.

The school will support pupils from primary through to KS3, with complex SEMH, trauma and associated SEND needs. Pupils are grouped by academic stage rather than simply age, with a highly individualised approach to teaching, behaviour and wellbeing.

This is not a traditional classroom environment. The focus is on relationships, emotional regulation and re-engaging pupils who have struggled within mainstream education.

    Available Roles

The school is recruiting for qualified teachers across the following areas:

    SEMH Teacher (KS1-3)

You'll deliver a broad, engaging curriculum to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, adapting your teaching to individual academic stages and helping pupils rebuild confidence and engagement with learning.

Primary trained teachers are particularly welcome, as the school needs people who are comfortable teaching across the curriculum.
Secondary trained teachers will also be considered if they can confidently teach at least two relevant subjects, such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Art, PE, ICT, Design Technology, PSHE or SMSC. Chef & Catering Teacher

This is a practical teaching position, not a catering or school kitchen role. You will combine food preparation and cooking with teaching pupils practical catering skills.

QTS and genuine practical culinary ability are essential. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate how to prepare, cook and serve food properly, plan learning and help pupils develop their own skills and confidence.

    About You

We're looking for teachers who are adaptable, patient and confident working with pupils whose needs may require a different approach to teaching and behaviour.

    You'll need:

QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
The ability to deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons.
Confidence teaching across the relevant curriculum areas.
Strong relationship-building and classroom management skills.
A calm, consistent approach to behaviour.
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and therapeutic professionals. Experience in SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or specialist education would be highly desirable, but strong mainstream teaching experience would also be relevant for those looking for a more specialist teaching opportunity.

    The Opportunity

Joining a new school offers the chance to contribute to its culture, routines and approach from the outset. You'll be part of a team building a provision where relationships, emotional wellbeing and learning are considered together.

If you're a teacher looking for something different, and you'd value the opportunity to help shape a new school, we'd love to hear from you.
