How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Shift Engineer
    City of London
    £50,000 – £55,000

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider at a prestigious commercial property in the City of London. You will be part of an established M&E maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of all building services while maintaining high standards of service and client satisfaction.

    As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, emergency response and compliance duties. You will also maintain site logbooks, oversee contractors and ensure all works are completed safely and in line with site procedures.

    Electrical Shift Engineer Duties:

    Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems.
    Working on single and three-phase power systems.
    Maintaining motors, generators and UPS systems.
    Assisting with LV/HV switching and shutdown procedures.
    Testing emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
    Maintaining AHUs, FCUs and VAV systems.
    Working on sprinkler systems, pumps, belts, bearings and mechanical seals.
    Monitoring and operating BMS systems.
    Ensuring health and safety compliance across the site.
    Maintaining logbooks and site documentation.
    Completing risk assessments and issuing permits to work.
    Liaising with contractors and supporting day-to-day site operations. Electrical Shift Engineer Requirements:

    City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations.
    Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial building maintenance.
    A good understanding of electrical and mechanical building services.
    A motivated, career-driven individual with a willingness to develop.
    A professional, personable and client-focused approach. Salary and Package:

    £50,000 – £55,000 per annum.
    Continental shift pattern, covering days and nights.
