How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Automatic Door Engineer
    London
    OTE £55,000 +

    An award-winning, global market leader in the automatic door industry is continuing to grow and is looking to add an Engineer to its service team across London. Previous automatic door experience is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field service engineer from a transferable background such as security systems, access control, electrical, gates and barriers, lifts, HVAC, industrial doors or other electromechanical service environments. Full training will be provided, including structured site and classroom-based development. The package includes a basic salary of £48,000, £2,400 per annum callout standby fee, 33 days holiday, a lucrative commission scheme and a first-time fix incentive.

    As an Automatic Door Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors manufactured by companies such as Assa Abloy, Record, Geze, Dorma, Stanley, Tormax, Horton, Label, and more.
    Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
    Basic electrical wiring.
    Adhering to BS EN 16005 standards.The successful Automatic Door Engineer will have:

    Previous field service engineering experience within automatic doors or a transferable industry such as security, access control, electrical, gates and barriers, lifts, HVAC, industrial doors or another electromechanical environment.
    Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment, with the confidence to diagnose and repair equipment in the field.
    A customer-focused approach and experience working independently in a mobile service engineering role.
    Automatic door experience and EN 16005 certification would be advantageous but are not essential - full training will be provided.
    A clean driving licence.
    A CSCS Card would be advantageous but is not essential.
    A practical electrical and mechanical engineering background, with a willingness to develop knowledge of automatic door systems.
    Providing customers with advice and identifying the best solution to their individual requirement.In return, you will receive a remuneration package which includes:

    Basic salary of £38,000 depending on experience.
    £2400 per annum callout standby fee.
    Home-based, door to door pay.
    Premium overtime rates after 8 hours per day, travel time is considered overtime.
    Commission scheme, top earners bring in over £800 per month.
    All power tools and hand tools provided.
    Brand new professionally racked company van with satnav.
    Mobile phone.
    Life insurance scheme.
    5% contribution pension.
    Comprehensive training and development plan, including site-based and classroom training, automatic door product training, BS EN 16005 development and a two-week external electrical course.
    Exciting long term career prospects.
    Expected OTE of £55,000 +
