How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

VMI Service Driver (South Wales & South West)

Salary: £28,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: South Wales, Bristol and surrounding areas
    Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Benefits: Company van provided, mobile phone supplied, fuel for business travel, full training and ongoing support.

Looking for a role with independence, variety, and customer interaction?

This position may suit candidates with experience in customer service, field service, delivery driving, merchandising, inventory management, warehouse operations, stock control, engineering support, or similar customer-facing roles.

Our client are seeking a reliable and self-motivated VMI Service Driver to support customer locations across South Wales, Bristol, and surrounding areas.

This is a field-based role where you'll work independently, managing an assigned route of customer locations and ensuring inventory is maintained to the highest standards.

Using a company van, you will visit customer locations, replenish stock, generate replenishment orders, maintain VMI areas, and build strong working relationships with customer teams.

This role focuses on delivering a consistently high standard of service across your assigned customer portfolio. Rather than simply delivering products and moving on, you'll take ownership of inventory performance at each location, helping customers maintain stock availability, identifying issues before they become problems, and ensuring agreed service standards are consistently achieved.

    Key Responsibilities

Visit customer sites to service and maintain Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) locations.
Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as required.
Use handheld scanning equipment to generate replenishment orders.
Identify stock shortages, inventory discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Maintain safe, organised, and professional VMI areas.
Build positive working relationships with customer contacts.
Report inventory concerns, customer feedback, and service issues to Sales and Operations teams.
Manage daily schedules and routes efficiently while working independently.
Ensure agreed service standards are maintained across all assigned locations.
Support customers by resolving day-to-day inventory issues and escalating concerns where appropriate.
Complete all required paperwork and system updates accurately and on time.
    What We're Looking For

    Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Confidence using smartphones, email, Microsoft Teams, and mobile applications.
Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
A proactive approach to problem solving.
Professional and positive attitude when interacting with customers.
Commitment to safe working practices and company procedures.
Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
    What We Offer

    Permanent full-time position.
    Monday to Friday working pattern.
    No regular weekend working.
    Company van provided.
    Fuel provided for business travel.
    Mobile phone supplied.
    Full training and ongoing support.
Freedom to manage your own day while being supported by an experienced regional Operations and Sales team.
A varied role working with a wide range of customers and industries.
The opportunity to take ownership of your route and build long-term customer relationships.
