How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PURCHASE & SALES LEDGER CLERK

    LEEDS

    Hours: Monday-Thursday 9.00am-5.00pm, Friday 9.00am-4.00pm

    We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and successful signage business based in Leeds, who are looking to appoint a Purchase & Sales Ledger Clerk as a replacement within their accounts team.

    This is a varied role suited to someone with previous purchase and/or sales ledger experience who is confident working with figures, organised in their approach and comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers.

    The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping the day-to-day accounts function running smoothly, ensuring purchase ledger records are accurate and organised, whilst also managing sales invoicing and customer queries.

    Working as part of the wider team, your responsibilities will include:

    Managing the day-to-day purchase ledger, ensuring invoices and paperwork are accurate, matched and correctly recorded.
    Processing and organising purchase invoices and maintaining accurate records.
    Creating and distributing sales invoices relating to customer orders and completed jobs.
    Ensuring invoices are issued promptly to support timely customer payment.
    Dealing with customer queries relating to invoices, accounts and payments in a professional and timely manner.
    Assisting with credit account application forms and other general accounts administration.
    Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with enquiries appropriately.
    Maintaining accurate records and ensuring paperwork is organised and up to date.
    Supporting the wider team with general administration where required.
    Using Sage as part of the day-to-day accounts process.The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Previous experience within a purchase ledger, sales ledger or accounts administration role.
    Sage experience is essential.
    Good attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach.
    Confidence working with invoices, figures and financial information.
    Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with customer and supplier queries.
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel would be beneficial.
    The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise daily tasks.
    A professional and approachable manner.
    Good general administration skills.This is a permanent position within an established and well-respected business.
