We are looking for a proactive and motivated HR Adviser to join a busy HR team in Stevenage on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
Reporting to the HR Business Leader, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the site. Working closely with HR management, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Talent Acquisition and the wider HR team, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of HR activities within a large, multinational organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your HR knowledge, contribute to projects and build valuable experience within a complex business environment. Experience in the defence and aerospace sector would be advantageous, but candidates from other industries with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
The Role
As an HR Adviser, you will provide a varied mix of operational, administrative and project support, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of HR processes and services.
Your responsibilities will include:
* HR Support: Providing administrative, operational and project support to HR Business Partners and the wider HR team.
* Employee Relations: Supporting disciplinary and grievance processes and providing day-to-day guidance to employees and managers.
* Employee Lifecycle: Assisting with onboarding, inductions and exit processes.
* Recruitment Support: Supporting managers and employees throughout recruitment activities.
* Payroll and Attendance: Providing day-to-day support with time recording, attendance and payroll queries.
* Immigration and Global Mobility: Supporting immigration, global mobility and detached duty processes.
* HR Data and Reporting: Coordinating HR data, file archiving, audits, surveys, headcount reports and absence reports.
* HR Events and Coordination: Assisting with HR events, meetings, room bookings and site visits.
* Employee Recognition: Coordinating the Long Service Award process.
* Project Support: Contributing to HR projects, process improvements and ad hoc activities across the business.
Some travel to other UK sites may be required.
About You

You will ideally demonstrate:

* The confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and use your initiative.
* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
* Good IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Google Workspace, Gemini and Workday would be advantageous.
Experience within a large organisation would be beneficial, and exposure to the defence and aerospace industry would be an advantage. Transferable experience from other sectors will also be considered.

Location and Working Arrangements
The role is based on site in Stevenage, with the possibility of occasional hybrid working.
Free parking is available in a local car park approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the site.
Security Requirements
The successful candidate will need to be eligible to obtain the required UK security clearance. A basic criminal record disclosure and Security Check (SC) clearance will be required before commencing the contract.
