How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Design Engineer 

    Leicester 

    £35,000 to £60,000 Salary (Dependent on Experience) + Overtime + Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance (4x Salary) + Uniform + Free Parking + Company Bonus + Relocation Assistance 

    37.5 Hours Monday to Thursday 08:00-12:30, 13:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-13:30 

    Mechanical Design Engineer required for a professional and growing producer of bespoke machinery used in manufacturing. The company have a niche product range and an excellent reputation and are hiring due to continued growth.

    This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of machinery design, mechanisms or moving mechanical systems. You will have 3D modelling experience (with SolidWorks or similar) but can come from any industry background. 

    Joining a small design team, the successful candidate will be responsible for using SolidWorks for the full design and detailing of rotating machinery, ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget. You will be responsible for selecting materials and components.
     
    The Mechanical Design Engineer: 

    ·       Using SolidWorks to design bespoke machinery
    ·       Participate in regular design reviews and monitor progress against deadlines
    ·       Selection of materials and components with cost and quality in mind
    ·       Ensuring BOMs are updated
    ·       Work with project team to ensure all documentation is up to date and recorded
    ·       Visit suppliers when required

    The Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate: 

    ·       Experience within mechanical machine design
    ·       Hold a degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering (or similar)
    ·       Experience using SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD package)
    ·       Any industry background – ideally rotating equipment

    £35000.00 - £60000.00 per year
