How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As an Associate Director Quantity Surveyor in the life sciences sector, you'll take charge of cost management for construction projects, ensuring they're delivered on time and within budget. Based in London, this role supports the smooth running of industrial and manufacturing projects in healthcare, education, and life sciences.

    Our client is a global professional services property and construction consultancy who work with clients across real estate including Health, Science and Education sectors. They provide consultancy services to organisations within the Health, Science & Education sectors, supporting clients through all stages of project delivery.

    Description

    Provide expert cost management and quantity surveying for life sciences and healthcare projects.
    Lead the financial planning and budgeting process for construction initiatives.
    Oversee project costs to ensure delivery within budget and agreed timelines.
    Prepare detailed cost estimates, procurement strategies, and tender evaluations.
    Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver value.
    Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, including NHS requirements.
    Support the development of junior team members through mentoring and guidance.
    Provide strategic advice on cost-saving opportunities and risk management.Profile

    A successful Associate Director Quantity Surveyor should have:

    Full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
    Proven experience in quantity surveying and cost management within construction.
    Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, or education projects.
    Strong understanding of NHS frameworks and requirements.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
